How We Treat Each Other Here

STEWARD is a place to be honest about real life — work, money, family, courage, time, and the things we're still figuring out. That only works if it's safe. A few simple commitments keep it that way.

Speak as you'd want to be spoken to

Be honest, be kind, be specific. Disagree without tearing down. Assume the best about the person behind the words.

Protect the room

This community isn't the place for:

  • Hateful, demeaning, or discriminatory speech about anyone (including on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, sex, gender, religion, disability, or age)
  • Harassment, threats, bullying, or targeting an individual
  • Violent, graphic, or sexually explicit content
  • Crude or profane language used to wound
  • Spam, scams, solicitation, or sharing others' private information
  • Content that promotes self-harm or suicide (if you're struggling, please see "If you're not okay" below — we want to help, not hide it)

Honor confidence

What's shared in here — especially in mentor and group spaces — is shared in trust. Don't screenshot, repost, or carry someone's story outside without their permission.

Stewardship, not performance

No need to look impressive. Honesty about a hard week is worth more than a highlight reel.

If you're not okay

If you're thinking about harming yourself, you are not alone, and this is not weakness. In the U.S., you can call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) any time, day or night. If you're in immediate danger, call 911. We'd rather you reach out than carry it alone. STEWARD is not a crisis or counseling service, but we care that you're okay.

When something crosses a line

Use the Report option on any post. Reports are private — the author isn't told who reported. Our team reviews flagged content and may hide or remove it, and may warn, suspend, or remove accounts that repeatedly cross these lines.

Our discretion

We may remove any content or limit any account, at our discretion, to keep this a safe and gracious place. If you think we got it wrong, reply to the notice and we'll take another look.
